Elizabeth SIDEBOTHAM (1841 - 1911) & Samuel MOXON (1826 - 1886)

Elizabeth SIDEBOTHAM was the daughter of William SIDEBOTHAM, a 'Cotton Spinner' and Sarah SWANTON. Elizabeth was born in 1841 in Heaton Norris, Stockport, Cheshire and grew up with her family at 133 New Bridge Lane, Stockport.

Elizabeth moved to Wigan and in the 1881 Census is recorded as working as a 'Domestic Servant' at the home of Samuel MOXON (1827-1886) with his sons Walter and William and daughter, Mary.

Elizabeth married Samuel in 1884 just a couple of years before Samuel died aged 59 in 1886.

By April 1891, Elizabeth (widowed and working as a 'General Servant') was living at 1 Ethel Street, Poolstock, Wigan, with her brother Henry and Henry's children; son John SIDEBOTHAM (a 'Grocer's Assistant'), son William SIDEBOTHAM (an 'Errand Boy') and daughters Sarah SIDEBOTHAM and Isabella SIDEBOTHAM. Henry was working as a 'Packer' at the Deakin's Jam Factory in Wigan.

Prior to Elizabeth's death in Wigan in 1911, aged 70, she was living with he niece Harriet Webster and her husband Albert (a 'Railway Clerk and Storekeeper') and their children George and Minnie at their home, 6 Second Avenue, Wigan.
