Samuel Pownall DEAKIN was the son of Samuel Pownall DEAKIN and Sarah Ann SIDEBOTTOM. Samuel was born in 1869, Wigan, Lancashire.
In the 1881 Census, Samuel is recorded as a 'Scholar', living at 13 Wignall Street, Wigan, with his mother, Sarah and his 7 brothers and sisters. In the 1891 Census, Samuel is recorded as living with his parents and 5 sisters at Corporation Street, occupation 'Yeast Importer'.
Samuel, a Yeast Merchant, married Harriet(t) Ann ELLIS[1] (b. 1874) in 1894 in Wigan (at Wigan Register Office or Registrar attended).
Samuel and Harriet(t) lived at 7 Darlington Street, Wigan, where Samuel died aged 30 on 9th September 1899[2]. Samuel's estate was handled by Wright and Appleton, 31A King Street, Wigan.Samuel is buried in Lower Ince Cemetery, Wigan, plot no. A487 with his parents Samuel and Sarah Deakin and brother-in-law Edwin Large.
