Emma DEAKIN
(1871 - 1966)

Emma DEAKIN was the eldest daughter of Samuel Pownall DEAKIN and Sarah Ann SIDEBOTTOM. Emma was born in 1871, Wigan, Lancashire[1].

In the 1881 Census, Emma is recorded as a 'Scholar', living at 13 Wignall Street, Wigan, with her mother, Sarah and her 7 brothers and sisters. In the 1891 Census, Emma, aged 20, is recorded as living at 49 Corporation Street, Wigan, with her parents, brother and 4 sisters, occupation 'Jam Wrapper'.

Emma married Edwin LARGE (1873-1950) from Norfolk in 1900 in Wigan[2]. In the 1901 Census, Emma and Edwin are recorded as living at 52 Old Road, Ashton-in-Makerfield, Lancashire. Edwin's occupation is listed as 'Bread Baker and Confectionist'.

Edwin died, aged 77 years, on 6 Feb 1950[2] and is buried in Lower Ince Cemetery, Wigan, plot no. A487 with his parents-in-law Samuel and Sarah Deakin and brother-in-law Samuel Deakin.

Emma died on 20 Feb 1966.
