Alice Elizabeth FILDES
(1867 - 1947)

Alice Elizabeth FILDES was born in 1867 in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire[1] the daughter of Thomas FILDES and Ann KIRBY[2].

In the 1881 Census, Alice is recorded as living with her parents and brothers and sisters at 1 Leamington Place, Cheltenham. Her father was a 'Fruiter' and they employed one servant, Elizabeth Alice PRIVETT (b. 1864, London, m. Walter William SPREAG in 1888 in Cheltenham).

Alice married Edward John BURROW in 1891[3].

Alice and Edward had the following children:

  1. Beatrice Millar BURROW, b. 1893, Cheltenham[4] m. Neville SIDAWAY in 1925[5], d. 18 Aug 1977.
  2. Dorothea May BURROW, b. 1897, Cheltenham[6] m. William George DEAKIN 10 Aug 1918, d. 3 Jul 1966, Cheltenham.

In the 1901 Census, Alice is recorded as living with her husband, Edward, Beatrice aged 8 years and Dorothea aged 3, at St John's Gardens, Cheltenham and one servant (Jane CRUSE).

Alice died in Cheltenham in 1947, aged 79 years.
